ON REPEAT:
Put this in your ears, walk around outside and feel like you're in a music video.
WELCOME TO THE BRIGHTSIDE
Hope everyone had a great week. Happy Leap Year weekend, go take advantage of 2020's extra day tomorrow! <3
Big shoutout to Sam for making me some new Brightside topic icons. Is there anything else you want to see?! Let me know!
How's your mind today?
I was feeling a little down at the beginning of the week if I'm being honest with you. You know, the frustrating kind of sadness that just kinda lingers and there's no tangible thing you can point your finger at and be like "oh yeah, that's the culprit."
But luckily my week was full of dates with girlfriends, yoga, and some good work meetings so I feel like I'm ending the week in a better place than I started mentally, I'm thankful for that. Does anyone else feel like this week was 14 days long?
You guys, I started working with a career coach this week!
I've been craving a structured environment that allows me to look inward and reflect on my strengths, values, challenges, etc. I can journal and think about this on my own as much as I want, and oh believe me I have been - but I needed a little guidance. So here we are!
I was introduced to my coach (who is external to Google) through a friend, and we had our first meeting on Tuesday. Let me just say: WOW. I'm so happy I took a chance on exploring this. Our first session was more impactful than I could have imagined and I'm really looking forward to working more with her. Has anyone worked with a coach before?
Acupuncture!
Remember how I was struggling with my winter workout routine and muscle recovery? I finally made it to acupuncture this week and it was blissful, as always. I've been seeing Mary for over a year now, and she just started her own practice (!!!) - if you're in NYC, hit her up!
Highs:
It was such a fun filled friend week. I got to see SO many of my favorite humans for dinners, movies, and workout classes and my heart feels so full. On Wednesday night Fran came into town, and I surprised her by bringing Amanda along to Penn Station to pick her up. The three of us were freshman year roommates at Marist and it was so special to reconnect, even for just a second!
Lows:
Kim & I have been working our way through 1Q84 and we're STRUGGLING to get through the last part of the book. I had such an appetite for the book until this point - it was so captivating and by my standards, I was flying through it. But we're in Part 3 and it seems like the end will never come. Kim, <3 u, ty for motivating me to keep reading!!!
Doing anything fun this weekend?
Zach just got back from a long business trip, and we're so excited to catch up and spend the weekend together. He works in Flatiron so we love ending our Fridays and starting the weekend at Eataly. We're going to meet up there after work and pick up some fancy ingredients for dinner tonight!
Would you pay $275 for this facial? if I was rich, hells to the yeah I would.
Update: I bought the two pairs of Birkenstocks from last week (one, two). Keeping one, returning two.
happy brightsiding,
Always here for an email pen-palship, even if (especially if!) we haven't caught up in a while. <3
