ON REPEAT:
WELCOME TO THE BRIGHTSIDE
We made it to another Friday, my friends. Hope you had the best week you were able to, you're keeping your chin up, and you're not putting too much pressure on yourself. I had to pull myself out of a few existential productivity holes this week—you know, the "am I doing enough?!" freakout—now is just NOT the time for that BS. We're all doing what we can.
How's Your Mind Today?
One year ago today I trekked across the Hudson River to meet a boy at a bar in Hoboken. If that version of myself got a one-second glimpse of where my life would be today— navigating a worldwide pandemic with that boy, quarantined with his family in Florida— I would have been so surprised, excited, giddy.
Today Zach and I are celebrating our one year anniversary, which is an exciting milestone! It's been an incredible year—a hard year—full of ups and downs and lots of hard work and lots communication. A year of so much laughter, and love like I have never known.
I'm so thankful for this past year and so excited to see what the future holds. Tonight, we're celebrating by cooking together and enjoying some time outside with Louie. We're so grateful that we even get to be together today. SAP FEST OVER! <3
Tiger King & Brittany Spears
If you haven't watched Tiger King yet, stop what you're doing and go participate in this pop culture phenomenon. I fell into a Google hole earlier this week and learned that Doc Antle handled a tiger on-stage with Brittany Spears during here 2001 VMA Performance of "Slave 4 U" (you know the one) and I was SHOOK.

Highs:
Writing so many letters! I've been on such a letter writing kick and it's bringing me so much joy these days. If you want a letter, send me your address and I'll send you some love!
Getting lots of time in the sun - we are so fortunate to be down here in Florida with nice weather, and I'm totally taking advantage of it.
Lows:
Zach's mom and I watched Saturday Night Fever this week - HAS ANYONE SEEN IT? We were both really looking forward to watching it—she'd seen it a long time ago, and I'd never watched it. We did not realize what an effed up movie it is! Aside from John Travolta dancing and the incredible soundtrack, the plot was whack and I would NOT agree with its 82% Rotten Tomatoes rating.
Opportunities to Help Others Right Now
It's a crazy time, y'all. And it's so hard to feel any sort of control amidst so much uncertainty. Here are a few things you can do to make a positive impact right now:
Support Central Scenic, a company out of Ohio making masks for medical workers throughout the US. This is Kelly's brother in law, and every $10 donated secures one reusable shield-mask for medical workers. Donate to central-scenic on Venmo if you have the means!
Send your friends cookies or wine! Literal instant pick-me-up.
Do something for you. A virtual yoga class, an at-home-facial ... whatever feels good and makes sense. If doing nothing feels good, then fricken relax this weekend.
Can't wait to hug you when this is over, friends.
I really can't justify splurging on an Aviator Nation jumpsuit right now, but damn do I want one.
happy brightsiding,
Always here for an email pen-palship, even if (especially if!) we haven't caught up in a while. <3
